The following is a list of programmes offered at the School of Veterinary Medicine. Click on each of the programmes to find out more.
This is designed to prepare applicants, who are currently
unable to meet the requirements for matriculation, with
the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes for the degree
programmes at the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), UWI.
This is a 3 semester programme spanning 12 calendar months.
Semester one starts in September and the program finishes
in time for the student to apply for the Doctor of Veterinary
Programme in the following year.

The veterinary education programme leads to the
degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and extends
over four (8 semester long) or five (10 semester long) years.
The first year of study is an integrated programme
in which the medical, dental, veterinary and pharmacy
students together analyze integrated system-based
problems.

The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM)
occupies an ideal location for the study of Tropical
Veterinary Medicine.
Fulltime programmes extend for at least 21 months
for the Mphil, and at least 36 months months for the
PhD.
Research laboratories are supplied with state of
the art equipment, and our research focus includes the
development of new methods of diagnosis of foodborne
diseases, food safety and biosecurity.
