Pre Veterinary (Pre-Health Professions Programme)
This is designed to prepare applicants, who
are currently unable to meet the requirements for
matriculation, with the necessary knowledge, skills,
and attitudes for the degree programmes at the Faculty
of Medical Sciences (FMS), UWI.
DVM
Programme
The veterinary education programme leads to
the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and
extends over five years.
The first year of study is an integrated programme
in which the medical, dental, veterinary and pharmacy
students together analyze integrated system-based
problems.
Resarch & Post
Graduate Programmes
The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM)
occupies an ideal location for the study of Tropical
Veterinary Medicine.
Fulltime programmes extend for at least 21 months
for the Mphil, and at least 36 months months for the
PhD.
Research laboratories are supplied with state of
the art equipment, and our research focus includes the
development of new methods of diagnosis of foodborne
diseases, food safety and biosecurity.
