Programmes - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Pre-Veterinary | Undergraduate DVM | Post Graduate

Post Graduate

The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) occupies an ideal location for the study of Tropical Veterinary Medicine.

Research laboratories are supplied with state of the art equipment, and our research focus includes the development of new methods of diagnosis of foodborne diseases, food safety and biosecurity. As a post graduate student in the SVM, it is possible to do:

  • basic science research
  • applied science research or clinical research

We also have a multinational faculty available to work with you and guide you through your chosen area.

  • Veterinary Anatomy
  • Veterinary Physiology
  • Veterinary Microbiology
  • Veterinary Public Health
  • Veterinary Pathology
  • Veterinary Parasitology
  • Veterinary Clinical Medicine
The degree programmes are primarily by research and guided studies with limited course work requirements where necessary. Fulltime, the programmes extend for at least 21 months for the Mphil, and at least 36 months months for the PhD. Persons interested in post graduate studies in any one of these areas should contact the post graduate coordinator for further information:
