Programme
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- GRE (V579, Q695, A708 mean scores)
- Required coursework:
- Chemistry (with lab)
- Organic Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Physics
- Biological Sciences
- Genetics
- English
- Holders of degrees in the relevant science
subjects
- Consideration will be given to the waiving and
substitution of courses
- Transfer of applicants considered from other vet
schools
- Non-academic factors include the personal statement
and experience and three (3) letters of reference
- Each applicant is evaluated on his/her own merit
SVM (UWI School of Veterinary Medicine)
is considered an AVMA - listed college (American
Veterinary Medical Association) www.avma.org.
Upon successful completion of the DVM Programme, the graduate, in order to practice veterinary
medicine in North America, is required to successfully
complete the ECFVG programme (Education Commission
Foreign Veterinary Graduate) www.avma.org/defaultecfvg.asp.
Additionally, some states require that candidates
successfully complete the State Board Examinations.
